Charlotte’s annual food festival, The Taste of Charlotte starts up later this week on Friday June 8th and runs through Sunday June 10th in Uptown.
This is one of my absolute favorite local events. Walking around getting to sample awesome food and just enjoy Charlotte’s center city with music and entertainment in the midst of a relaxed atmosphere is very cool.
The weather may actually not be all that stifling either, with highs in the 80s as opposed to the 90s so it should be a great weekend to spend time outdoors.
This year’s Taste of Charlotte event will kick off at 11am on Friday June 8th.
The festival’s hours are:
11am-11pm Friday June 8th
11am-11pm Saturday June 9th and
11am-6pm on Sunday June 10th
The festival takes place in Uptown Charlotte along Tryon St from MLK Jr Blvd to 6th Street, right in the heart of Center City.
Admission is Free, to purchase food or drinks you’ll need coins which are available for purchase at the festival (cash only!) or ahead of time online – Buy Taste of Charlotte Coins (fee applies to buy online)

In addition to all the food there is also a Marketplace, Kids Activities, and Live Entertainment. This really is such a fun local event, if you’re in town this weekend go out and enjoy some great food and fun in Uptown Charlotte!
